More Scanias for Eastbourne and latest repaints of some of the Eastbourne fleet

Would of done this sooner but needed some more photos. Since I last posted sometime ago I was given updates that people helped me with. Eastbourne is becoming an hot spot for Scanias as towards the end of last month the last Tridents went and more Scanias came from Herne Bay after being displaced by Scania MMCs. This batch included two 09 reg and four 59 reg that are 15506/6 and 15543/4/5/6 (GN09 BDE/F and GN59 EWS/T/U/V). GN09 BDE/F both sound really horrible so now Eastbourne have some of the worst Scanias in the South East. However the 59 reg batch are good eventhough I've only been on 2 of them.

Now onto the photos of the Scanias:

Horrible 15505 (GN09 BDE) working the Loop on one of it's first days in service

Horrid sister 15506 (GN09 BDF) on the 1

15543 (GN59 EWS) working the 56 in it's first week of service

15544 (GN59 EWT) on the 51/251/252 on one of its first days in service

15545 (GN59 EWU) on it's first week of service on the 1A
Had to wait nearly an few weeks for an decent photo but here is 15546 (GN59 EWV) working the Wave 99 to Silverhill whilst similar Wave 99 branded 15771 (GN61 EVU) worked the 56
Most of the photos of the Scanias were taken in their first week of service.

Latest Repaints:
There have been some recent repaints which have included debranding an Enviro200 to modified liveries on some of the Scania Enviro300s. Since I last published Enviro200 36903 (GN13 HHU), Dart 34492 (KV53 NHJ) and Scania Enviro300 28609 (GN61 EVP) all received new coats of paint. Some were pointless but one was for an specific reason. 28609 and 34492 were both only repainted last year and have received another repaint. 36903 was taken out off its Loop branding in favour for standard livery but retains branding inside though.

Now onto photos:
Fresh from the paintshop 36903 (GN13 HHU) on its first day in service after repaint

28609 (GN61 EVP) on its first day back in service after repaint. Note that the black from around the windows was removed in favour for it's modified livery but it retains the full blue on the front.

The latest News in the South and South East

Sorry that I haven't been writing posts recently it's just that I ran out of ideas I can now bring you the latest South and South East news.

Stagecoach South East:
Quite a few to note. The last 60 reg Enviro400s have now been branded for the "One" This was delayed because I didn't have any decent photos of one but I have now. Other notes to note is the most recent repaints. Some of the Tridents have had a repaint before transfer and also other repaints have been done on Enviro400 19019 (MX06 XAU) and Scania Enviro300 28608 (GN61 EVM). 28608 has been repainted with more white around the windows replacing the black and has gained a white bit inbetween the front lights like 28606 (GN61 EVK).

Away from the repaints Eastbournes and Hastings recently transferred Ex Breeze Scania Enviro400s have all entered service. Other transfers include more Magic Bus Tridents including one at Hastings with the original seat cushions. That is 17639 (W639 RND) which was transferred from Dover with Enviro400 19016 (MX06 XAR) going the other way and Similar 17627 (W627 RND) from Thanet. Also other transfers to Hastings were Super Pointer Dart 33176 and Solo 47174 both from Ashford and Folkestone.

Recently transferred to Eastbourne from Thanet is Ex Breeze Scania Enviro400 15503 (GN09 BCY) on the 56
 Brighton&Hove:
A few things have happened here the former Route 1 Geminis are all being repainted into the new Regency branding. As they are getting Dual Door StreetDecks to replace them. Also the last weekend in April saw the 13X start running on Saturdays as well as Sundays. Also B9TL 487 (BJ63 UJR) has received an all over green ad for Home Sense.

Route 6 branded B9TL 402 (BJ11 XHB) on the 13X
Compass Bus:
Not much to report for Compass Bus but they have acquired some Ex Arriva London Pulsar Geminis to replace their Tridents. The Geminis are registered LJ05 BNK and LJ05 GLV. Also Compass have got 2 new Enviro200s registered  SN16 OGS and SN16 OCV that have replaced some Solos that were sold and were replaced by the Enviro200s noted above.

A fond farewell to Eastbournes Trident ALX400s and what replaced them

A couple of weeks ago I was informed by someone that the Trident ALX400s at Eastbourne are getting replaced by Scania Enviro400s and sent to Kent for further use. Some have already departed and I don't know when the remainder will be departing. I really enjoyed the rides on them and my last ride on them will always be remembered.

My all time favourite Trident photo 18168 (GX54 DVL) is picking up passengers with 18172 (GX54 DVP) behind

18172 (GX54 DVP) having just completed a journey on the 54 from Uckfield

18173 (GX54 DVR) is seen picking up passengers on the 51

I would of chosen any picture of 18174 (GX54 DVT) but I selected this one of it picking up passengers on the Eastbourne Loop because it's an odd working

18175 (GX54 DVU) loading for a trip on the 99

The first one to go 18176 (GX54 DVV) seen on the 51 with its tree guard about to fall off only went on this one once

Not a good photo but here is 18530 (GX06 DYU) on the Loop
The Tridents replacements are 09 reg Scanias replaced by Scania MMCs 15501 (GN09 BCV) loads for a trip on the 51
I will really miss the Tridents so much they were really good Buses. The 3 Scanias here at the moment are Ex Breeze but are really likely to be joined by Ex Triangle ones as well.

The South Easts biggest Rail Replacement

Last Sunday was the biggest Rail Replacement in the South East of England Brighton to Three Bridges and Lewes to Three Bridges. So I headed out quite early on Sunday to get the train to Brighton and despite getting told off by my parents about the time I got back it was a really good day. This was due to Engineering works that were taking place. I went on a Rail Replacement to Three Bridges and saw a car park filled with Buses and Coaches. I also saw an Ex Arriva London Trainer DLA as well.
The Ex DLA127 seen at Three Bridges stupid blind position though

If I wrote all the names of the Companies that did it than that will take ages because there was loads of Bus and Coach companies that did it.

A little bit of Magic for Stagecoach in Eastbourne

Last week saw some Magic enter service in the form of Ex Magic Bus Tridents 17636/7 (W636/7 RND) at Eastbourne. These are the short term replacements for the newer 17528/9 (LX51 FOM/N) until we get some Scanias transferred over from Kent which could happen anytime soon. That is the reason why they haven't been repainted into Standard Stagecoach livery and have retained their Magic Bus colours. They can both be found mostly on the 56 with rare appearances on other routes 17636 has done the 51 and the 1/1A before whilst 17637 has stayed on the 56.

17637 (W637 RND) departs on the 56 shame about the blind not showing

Sister 17636 (W636 RND) loading for another journey on the 56

I do love the Magic Bus livery 17636 showing its past life

17637 loads for another trip on the 56.
I really need to go on these because they won't be here for long. They are just 2 of several to transfer to Stagecoach South East from Stagecoach Manchester most of then are short term replacements for Olympians whilst Eastbournes pair have replaced the 2 shorter Ex Stagecoach London Tridents.

Farewell to Eastbournes Ex London Tridents part two 17529

Continuing from my last post on 17528/9 having their roofs chopped off to become open tops it is not those W regs Ex Magic Bus Tridents replacing them instead it is Enviro400 bodied Scanias replacing them the W regs were only going to be a for a short period of time until the Scanias transfer over.

17528 (LX51 FOM) featured in Part one and in this post similar 17529 (LX51 FON) is going to be the star of this post. I haven't been on 17529 as much as 17528. 17529 is the one that sounded nicer out of the pair however, was a lot slower than 17528.

17529s rare workings:

17529 has appeared on the 1/1A and is seen in the photo below on the 1 on a wet 2nd January 2016.

17529 in the wet on the 1 on January 2nd this year
Like 17528, 17529 has appeared on the normally Scania Enviro400 operated Wave 99 and is seen in the picture below on the 99.
17529 on the 99 last year
17529 has also been on the 54 and is seen below on the 54 on its First day of service in April 2015 and a few months later.

17529 on the 54 a few months after the previous photo was taken
There are also other routes 17529 has been on it has been on the Loop and the 55 as well.
Like 17528, 17529s main route was the 56 and the last few shots are of it on the 56 I will miss both of these Tridents and would like to wish them all the best with their new lives as open toppers. I will leave you with a few pictures of 17529 on the 56.

Shame the blind isn't showing in this photo but 17529 is seen on the 56 in late December 2015
